Booka Shade, Bad Love

Booka Shade - Bad Love from keirux on Vimeo.

Bad Love.

One of Booka Shades latest tracks. I hope it works to see the video because the bastards here has block all pages that has anything that could be fun.

It's not like the tracks from previous album Body Language but it is a good track. And not only that, it has a great video as well. Needless to say I'm posting this one because of their set at melt the other week. I'm lucky that they played on the stage next to where we (Redves and Allmightys) were selling tees, otherwise I would have missed them as I miss most of the bands at the festival.

If the video works then sit back and enjoy. If it doesn't work just head over to www.vimeo.com and see it there.

LCD Soundsystem, I Can Change

This Is Happening.

LCD Soundsystem just released the third and supposedly last album. This is a track from that album.

They say you should quit when you're ahead and that seems to be what James Murphy is doing. Starting out with LCD Soundsystem in 2002, the band has gone from underground to top of the charts.

I just heard of LCD a couple of months ago. But hey there you go.

Kollektiv Turmstrasse , Tristesse

Short Freedom.

Tomorrow is a day of rest. Tomorrow is a day off. Which means that tonight can be a night of celebration.

And the city knows that we have tomorrow off so it has more to offer than a normal Wednesday night. Now if it could only realise that having stores open on holidays is good for business then it would go to whole other level.

But none of us should complain. We should just relax and enjoy our day off. And to help that happen here is a track from Kollektiv Turmstrasse cut together with a nice video.

See you when I see you.

The Apples in stereo, Dance Floor

Time Traveler.

Easy and kind song from Robert Schneiders The Apples in stereo. This song is from their new album Travellers in Space and Time.

It's always fun to see a music video that is a bit different. But why is Elijah Wood in the video? Well it seems as though Elijah Wood and The Apples are friends. So good friends that Elijah Wood even signed the band to his record label Simian Records. (I guess he had to do something with all that Lord of the Rings money.)

Anyways, it's time to kick back and take it easy for a moment.

Oxia Sun Step

Step it up.

Here is another build up for the weekend. Oxia with his latest release. Sure it's from 2009 but it will still make you dance.

Oxia is a DJ from France that started out in the late 80's but first became a club DJ in 1991. From being a resident DJ in a club in Grenoble he is now one of the biggest names in the techno/house scene.

He had a gig here in Berlin not long ago but it's probably gonna take some time before he has another one. Not to worry, with releases like this you're bound to hear his tunes on a floor close to you.

Jesper Dahlbäck Dash One

For Saturday.

To build up for "Be The Weekend" here is a track from Jesper Dahlbäck. It might not be the latest track released in the music world but it should make you want to move your feet.

Starting to make music with the age 17 you can hear that the man has experience when it comes to this type of music. That also might be the reason why this track is somewhat harder than what's being played in the charts.

Jesper Dahlbäck is playing at Arena Club this Saturday. An excellent opportunity to "Be The Weekend". But we all know what happens before that.

She & Him, Me and You

Another Project.

The lovely Zooey Deschanel and M Ward are She & Him. A low-key indie folk band. The song "Me and You" is from their second album entitled Volume Two.

This week will be a short week since I'm going to Stockholm on Thursday. And I'm not going for any old reason. My brother is getting married and I'm the best man. Finally a worthy title. So just to make sure that this week isn't without music, the song of the week is a bit early.

Anyone who has seen a movie with Zooey Deschanel knows that she likes to sing. She has managed to sing a song in almost every single movie she has been in. So it's not to surprising to find out that she is now releasing a second full length album with her band She & Him.

Simply a nice song.

Audio Bullys, The Future Belongs To Us

Round 3.

Third album dropped end of last month. With "Higher Than the Eiffel" the Audio Bully's are back. Are they still the same?

The last thing I heard from the Audio Bully's was their remix of Nancy Sinatra's Shot You Down. And that was back in -05. So what have they been doing all these years. One could have thought that they were sitting in some basement doing even better songs. That doesn't seem to be the case. They might have been in a basement but what they came out with is not as good as it once was.

The Future Belongs To Us is a good track, it's clearly an Audio Bully's track. It has all the ingredient that made the band big. But something is missing. What's missing is that little extra, that bit that just grabs you and make you move.

Good but could be better.

The Go Find, New Indie

Everybody Knows It's Gonna Happen Only Not Tonight.

Third album from the The Go Find. Which is the Belgian Dieter Sermeus's band project.

What started as a one man band slowly turned into a five man band. But in a sense this is Dieter Sermues's thing. It's somewhat feel-good indie with some electronica in there. Might call it indietronica, but I was never good at sub-genres so let's just stick with indie.

And I have to say, I really like the CD-cover.

Two Door Cinema Club Something Good Can't Work

Popish.

Energy seems to be the guideline for Two Door Cinema Club and their new album Tourist history.

Earlier this month this Northern Irish band dropped their first studio album. Something Good Can't Work is a song from that album. It's a catchy song, if it's a catchy album is another question.

Two Door Cinema Club is playing a sold out show at Rosis here in Berlin on the 9Th of April.

Broken Bells

Self entitled Album.

The Broken Bells released their self entitled album yesterday. Here is the first single from that album.

This album in a project from producer Brian Burton who is also known as Danger Mouse and his new friend James Mercer from The Shins. they have manage to create a nice sound that is sure to make well i to the summer. If you like what you hear you can also check the song Vaporize by clicking here.

A lot of music this week. Wonder why?

Terry Lynn. System

System.

Sometimes it takes a while before the music reaches you. It took way to long, this song was released last year.

Terry Lynn makes music about the situation in Jamaica. System is a song about crime, poverty and the corrupt police. Not exactly what you want to think about when you picture Jamaica. A island that could and should be a Caribbean paradise.

System is from the album Kinstonlogic 2.0

Efterklang, Modern Drift

Modern Drift.

Yes it's indie pop, but it's good. And yes they are Danish, but their new album sounds good.

Their new album Magic Chairs was released a couple of days ago and has been received with good criticism. But not all fans agree on that point. Some say that they have gone to mainstream and that they have lost their original sound. I don't really care whether or not that is the case. Mainly because I haven't listen to their older songs and secondly because I just heard about them a couple of days ago.

Modern Drift is simply a nice song from a talented band. All I can say is listen and enjoy.

Portico Quartet, Clipper

Jazz and such.

Drum orientated pop/jazz. Sounds to exist by.

This post should maybe have been posted on a Sunday. Jazz and this kind of music make me think of a Sundays. The melancholy feel that something is ending and the questions that comes with that. What have I really done? and What is gonna happen next?

The Portico Quartet has a special sound in that they sound the way you want jazz to sound. Not to much and not to crazy. And their use of the hang drum gives something more to it as it sound a little like an oil drum.

The band was first signed in 2007 and released their first album "Knee-deep in the North See" the same year. They are now touring and playing songs from their latest album "Isla" that came out last year.

Vampire Weekend Cousins.

Another Vampire.

Vampire Weekend made it big with their self entitled album. This January they dropped their new album Contra.

The hype is big when it comes to this band, so if the music is not to your liking then at least you should be aware of their existence.

The band has not been active long but in that short time they have had songs on charts all over the world and this new album was the band's first to debut at number 1 on the Billboard 200.

Four Tet, She Just Likes To Fight.

Kieran Hebden.

Folktronica they call the music. And Keiran Hebden and his music project Four Tet is maybe the biggest artist in this genre.

Soft and sometimes chaotic but with a relaxed feeling is one way to describe this music. The best way to know is of course just to listen to it. Good music for clearing your mind. Perfect for a ride in the car or to listen to in your headphones on the train to work.

Under the name Four Tet Keirab Hebden has previously released six albums. He has also released four albums under his own name. The song She Just Likes to Fight comes from his newest album entitled There Is Love In You.

Johnossi What's The Point

They are Back.

Johnossi made it big with their first self-entitled album. Soon they will release a new one. This is a single from that future album.

After touring with bands like The Soundtrack of out Lives, Sibling Sense and Shout out louds maybe this album will make them headline their own tour. According to their own website the album should be released this year. Maybe as soon as April. Worth keeping an eye out for.

Delphics Doubt.

Some days are strange, and strange days call for (strange) music.

Delphics has a special sound. A mix of rock and electro. Just a couple of days ago they released their first album entitled Acolyte. This Manchester band is something to keep an eye on this year.

Laura Veirs July Flame.

Sing or Song.

Guitar and melodic singing makes this song a definite addition to the playlist.

Laura Veirs born in Colorado now living in Oregon is a pro in the music world. She has been recording since 1999 when she released her first (self entitled) album. But this song comes from her seventh album. The album like the song is named July Flame.

And July Flame does what it's suppose to, it gives that bittersweet feeling. But it also gives something else, the reminder that even if it seems far away. Summer will come.
