Vacation.

Going to the old country.

It's time for vacation. Ah, vacation. Soon I will be heading towards the beautiful Småland in the south of Sweden. My days will consist of sleeping in, fishing, swimming, drinking wine, eating nice food and most importantly spending time with my family.

Just look at that picture. Sweden can be so beautiful in summer. If you ever get the chance to go, all I can say is -Take it! Take the chance and see the nice towns and go for a hike in the woods. Swim in one of the thousands and thousands of lakes or head towards Stockholm and party your ass off. That's what I'm gonna do.

As I mentioned the other day, I will not be able to post next week but I will try my best to do so the week after. So take care and if you really need more "stuff" then take a look in the archives. There's a lot of good post back there.

I will be back soon...

Family Guy Monopoly.

Straight from Spooner Street.

It might be summer and everybody is thinking it's all just about hanging out in the sun or chilling at the beach. At least we all wish that it was like that. But we all have to come to terms with the fact that summer has rainy days as well. And what can you do on a rainy day? You guessed it. Boardgames.

Monopoly was one of the first boardgames I really liked. Either it that has something to do with the strategy part of it or it's my evil capitalistic side showing it's face. Gaining capital and trying to bankrupt your friends. So what better way to do that than trying to establish your own monopoly in Quahog.

A couple of my roommates they also like boardgames. Apparently they play quite often. This being the off season, I haven't seen them play yet. That will change when autumn gets here. Then it's gonna be time for Trivial Pursuit. That's when years of to much TV really pays off. I'm a master of useless knowledge.

And remember after the rain the sun always shines.

Calvin Harris.

Acceptable in the 80's

The fashion circle has made it's way to the 80's. And before we move on to the 90's this song needs to be recognized. Calvin Harris with Acceptable in the 80's is a song that easily get stuck in your head. Don't know how many times I have bin caught singing a few lines from this song in public. But it's like they say, always put on a show.

On sunday I'm going back to the old country for some vacation. One week in the beautiful swedish summer natur and then one week in Stockholm. The last few days I have bin organising the trip. So just a heads up. The first week you will probably not see any new post's. I know it's no fun, but we all need some R&R sometimes. But when I head up to Stockholm I'm sure I will be able to tell you whats going on in good old stock-town.

Spread the word people!

Solar Power

The One True God.

Let there be light and there was light. It's not a coincidence that that is right in the beginning of a certain book. It illustrates how important the light is. The Christians got the idea of the one god from the Jews. The Jews got the idea from Egypt. The place where Ra was the sun and the sun the one god. What are you really praying to in your church?

And what would we do without the sun? Hide in bunkers under the earth? Hiding like rats. In the long run we would not have a chance. We would starve and wither away.

It's good that we're not in that situation. At least not yet. The sun holds so much energy. It is the real reason we exist. And none of the fossil fuels that we use today would be there if it wasn't for her. And even though this planet sucks up every little ray of sunshine it can get, there is still so much to go around.

Without clean energy we will never be able to stay on this planet. The reason for our energy and resource problems is the lack of clean energy.

It's time for all nations on this rock to start building. Use the desert and the hot valley's. Build vast solar parks that stretch as long as the eye can see. That will be a big part of the solution.

The only time that exists is now.

Stan Smith 2

Black Stan.

Monday is here. The weekend is over and it's time to get serious. And what can be more serious than Sneaker Monday.

This time around I thought it would be nice with something more stable. Stan Smith 2 in it's black addition. A simple, clean and nice sneak. The design and the lines on this one makes it into a classic. A classic that will work somewhat like a cornerstone. Because it's just as important to have a clean black sneaker as it is to have a clean white one. Black is always present, so make sure you have a dark sneak that you can match with.

After this weekend I wish I wore my black sneaks. Berlin is a great city to party in but it's not the cleanest city. People don't really care if they step on your sneakers. So it would sometimes be better to wear a pair of black Stan Smith's than to get pissed when looking down at your once white sneaks. But it's a small price to pay to be able to party in this town.

Hang in there, the weekend is just around the corner.

The Hip Flask.

The secret stash.

Do you party? Do you hunt in the darkness? If the answer is yes then this should be a part of your gear. A clean silver/leather flask to be carried in your pocket. Fill it up with your favorite spirit and you're set for any opportunity that might appear.

The closest liquor store might be to far away. You might lose the money and card you brought with you. Even if this would happen you can still keep your cool. The same as for the cigarette case I wrote about some time ago.

With that said, I want to wish everybody a nice weekend. Take advantage of the summer weekends. They only come around so often. Have a good one and I will be back next week.

Carpe Diem motherfuckers! ;)

The Boom Box.

The Ghetto Blaster.

It's high time to bring out the Boom Box. The old school blaster that makes the old folks turn there heads. I'm not talking about a portable stereo but like in the picture, a box in silver with two decks and clean speakers.

Think about it. When was the last time you saw one? When ever that was it was to long ago. A blaster is not only very clean it also brings a nice sound to any outdoor activity.
Hook up your mp3 player and it's hard not to start moving.

Sure, you might think that it's gonna be heavy to carry or that you will have to pay for a lot of batteries. Small problems. On any Boom Box you should be able to attach a strap so that you can carry it like a sports bag over your shoulder. And if the strap has some nice colors it's just gonna make the box that much better. I would get one in rasta colors. Or a color combo that fits to your sneaks. That leaves the batteries. Easy, just buy rechargeable ones. And when you can, hook it up with the cable.

The beach, the park or just walking around in town is so much better with a Boom Box. So let's fill the world with music.

Miike Snow Animal

Still an Animal.

I change shapes just to hide in this place. Miike Snow has a original sound. A electric trip to something sad but still uplifting.

Anyways, since a couple of weeks music had taken a bigger place in my surroundings. But when I think about it, I don't know much about music. Just like everybody, I know what I like. At least when I hear it. But I don't know names and album covers. Maybe that is not so important. But would you ask me for good music then the list would not be long. I think that's what I mean when I say that I don't know much about music. My playlist is just to short.

The solution is to listen to a lot of music and keep the songs that are good.

And on a music related point. The way I see it the music business has gone backwards. The sheer volume of music that hits the market each year is to big. The record companies don't market anything other than the most mainstream and they do it poorly. And using YouTube as a advertisement platform seems to be to cleaver. They do the opposite. They take the music away and sue instead.

I thought free sharing would be the natural step. But no, we're heading towards paying way to much for music again.

Adidas Bag.

Sports Bag.

We all have stuff, some has more than others but we all have our share of junk. And some of this stuff is good to carry around. Hence a bag.

This type of bag might not be the most practical one but what it lacks in practicality it makes up in style. It goes perfectly with a white pair of sneaks and a white tee. I would call it a really nice summer bag. Something to carry the beers and the other beach or park things that might be needed. I think that I would need one later today when I head over to IKEA to do some food shopping. Yes they have food, food that I can't get anywhere else. To bad that it's so expensive but when your trowing a Sweden party you need the right goods.

Nike Jordan Brand Air Jordan DMP 1 Retro Hi 2 Pac

"Bulls vs Celtics"

Welcome to a new week with new chances and choices. And how do we kick start the week if not with Sneaker Monday.

Maybe you are also drooling over this double pack that Nike just dropped on the sneaker world. If you are your not alone. Nike just keep coming with new Jordan's in retro looks. And here we have two of them. One is clean red that carry the bulls colors. If you like to match with red and are prone to high top then this is the pair for you. But then again the green Celtic pair has a cleanliness that is hard to describe. I think it's because of the spot on color combo. And as I understand it these sneaks are only sold in the so called Defining Moments 2-Pack. So getting this 2-pack will set you up in style for a little while. The choice you have to make will be red or green. A very nice choice to be forced to make every morning.

I on the other hand have a bigger choice to make. One that could define my future. Should I stay or should I go? At the moment I'm leaning towards staying. But maybe that's just the summer talking.

Carhartt Baseball Jacket.

Summer Jacket.

It's summer out there and hopefully warm. But even if you would like to walk around in your shorts and your tee at all times it's just not always possible. Summer in Europe has a tendency to flip at certain points. One day warm as hell the other day your questioning if it's fall already.
And in this situation it's nice to have a thin jacket. In fall or spring I would recommend a coat, hell on a rainy day there's no problem wearing a coat. But in summer less is more and carrying a big coat all the time gets annoying.

So this short thin baseball jacket from carhartt would make a very good summer jacket. Clean cut and good color. Easy to match with does white summer t-shirts.

That will do for this week. Have a nice weekend and try to enjoy the summer as much as possible. I will certainly try.

Honeylicious

BBQ's finest.

A oldie but a goodie.

There is something about cooking meat on a grill. The fire's glow, the smoke and then the smell of meat being roasted to perfection. The best stuff here is really chicken. Chicken that has bin marinaded for at least 12 hours. Try this recipe the next time your making chicken.

Get some nice chicken breast. Cut it to long stripes, smaller peaces will absorb more flavor. Put them in a plastic bag. Then pore a little cola and honey in the bag. Spice with oregano, pepper, thyme and if you like spicy a little chili. Leave that in the fridge for 24 hours and then simply throw it on the grill. That's how you make the honeylicious chicken.

New studies show that chicken is the most environmental meat out there. Many chickens for a small amount of energy. But the real advantage is the high protein rate in this meat. Filled with protein and low on fat. Chicken is what made men like the Governator and Sly Stallone so big, that and a lot of pills.

Röyksopp

Happy up here

This is just a really good video and a really good song. The space invaders theme in a alternative city is well made to say the least. Even if Futurama already did it. I wonder in which city they made this video. Somehow it reminds me of Berlin but the sidewalks doesn't match. It would not surprise me if it is a Norwegian city, maybe Oslo.

Just bringing some music while it's still possible. Remember to take care of the internet and make sure to fight anyone that tries to take it away. Just blow them out of the sky.

Rene Magritte

The Son Of Man 1964
Rene Magritte 21 November 1898 – 15 August 1967

I saw a painting by Magritte on TV the other day and thought that more people should know this painter. He is one of the most famous Belgian (if not the most famous) painters. But Magritte has a very interesting life story. When he was 13 his mother killed herself by drowning. Something that would most likely haunt him for his entire life.

His first paintings date back to 1915 and were impressionistic. He later studied and married and went off to serve in the Belgian infantry. He stayed in Brussels during the Nazi occupation. After the war he was tight on money and to solve this he started to make fake Picassos, Chiricos and Braques paintings. He later also went in to the fake money printing business. Not long after that his career got started.

He seems to have been a interesting person, but most of all his paintings are somehow just very intriguing. So if you get the chance, then see one live.

Adidas Originals Campus 80's White on White

White as snow.

New week and new shoes. Let's start this week with a Sneaker Monday. This time around it's Adidas that has dropped a very nice sneak. One could get blinded be the brightness of them. Here we have the example and I mean THE example of a clean sneak. White on white with the classic Adidas lines. I have to find out where I can get a pair here in Berlin. With that said this is a sneak that will work with anything (or nothing for that matter). With this one you can't go wrong.

I hope that you enjoyed Bobo's entry the other day. If I'm lucky I will be able to convince him to write some more stuff for us. But we will see what happens here in Berlin. Bobo can't really be trusted. I mean, I like the guy but he's sneaky. And not in Sneaker Monday type of way.

And just because it's a new week and the weekend is far away does not mean that one can not enjoy the summer. So, Carpe Diem all!

Waking up.

Waking Up
by Bobo

Waking up with a stiff neck in a room that is not mine. The alarm went off and woke me up. It's good that it did, I have to be at work in an hour. The room is almost empty except for a small thin mattress, a small pillow and what ever I had in my pockets. It's basic knowledge that you should have everything you need to survive for one day in you pockets. The only thing I need right now is an aspirin. My head is playing one of those songs with to much bass. The one you hear guys playing to loud in there cars just to get some attention. A bass beat that make the car windows shake or in my case it makes my head feel to small for my brain. That is the way my head feels.

Between the fact that I only slept 5 hours and the headache sent from Satan there is only one question ringing in my brain. - What the fuck did I do last night? I have faded images of bars and people running in front of my eyes. It's places I don't remember. People that i don't know the name of.

7:00 in the morning is to early to be hung over. But there is nothing to be done. Maybe some water will help, but I doubt it. I go in to the kitchen to see if I can find something to eat. Now I know where I am. I have bin here before. The kitchen is a mess. Plates and dirty dishes everywhere. I even think I have washed dishes here. Yes I have. It was some time ago but yes.

I open the fridge and take a look at whats inside. There is not much in there. Some cheese, some bottles, milk and something different in the door. One, two, three eggs and then a plastic egg. The top half of it is transparent and the bottom half is green. And in the egg is a small ball of aluminum foil. What the hell can that be? A spice? Or maybe it's vanilla. I open the egg and start to peel the little foil ball to get it open. And then it hits me between the bass beats in my head. It's cannabis. It's nice, green and it smells like herb. A very good place to keep a stash.

After finding some toast in the freezer I get my shit together and walk out the door. The sun is way to bright.

Good Morning Berlin.

CRS.

Child Rebel Soldiers.

I just heard about this song the other week and I'm glad I did. I now listen to it at least ones a day. Sometimes it can take a while before a song gets trough, I mean it first came out 2007. I have a tendency to start listening to songs years after they get out. Not always very cool. I guess that is what happens when one doesn't listen to that much music.

But maybe this time I'm getting on the train just right since there have bin rumors that an album from CRS will hit the streets later this year.

So kick back, listen to the song and take it easy. We all need to take it easy sometimes. Especially now when it seems as the summer has finally found it's way to Berlin.
