White T-shirt.

Blinding.

I have said it once and I'm saying it again. Everybody needs a couple of white t-shirts in the wardrobe.

Strangely enough they have named this tee Bad. Must be because it's a v-neck and the model is wearing leather pants. Or maybe you feel bad once you paid for it. Because it's not just a white t-shirt, it's from Acne and it cost 50€.

You might wonder why you should pay that much for a tee that's just white. Here's the thing. A white tee is a basic part of any wardrobe. You are going to need one more often that you think. And as I have say before, you can go in two different ways when it comes to this. Many cheap ones that generally have a bad shape (or loss their shap) or you can suck it up at get a couple of expensive ones that keep their fit.

I would personally recommend a mix of the two. Have a bunch of cheaper ones for weekdays and fall and winter when you have other thing over and then have expensive ones for the weekend and summer when your entire outfit depends on the t-shirt.

Just saying.

T.I.T.S

It Is.

Another "provocative" t-shirt from T.I.T.S But it's clean and it's true what it
says.

As I have said before, T.i.t.s has a bunch of clean tees in the same style as this one. One just need to go to their web-page to see it.

And the benefits of such a t-shirt is obvious. Get one all you will see. But these guy are not the only once that make t-shirts in this style. Crooks and Castles has jumped on the same horse with this one.

And I guess that if it sell well then they will not be the only ones joining in and we will see a lot more of t-shirts in this style in the future.

It would not surprise me.

Us vs Them.

Somewhat political.

California is the home country of tees, at least when it comes to t-shirts with prints. This one is from Us vs Them which seems to be a skateboard that like to make tees with political slogans.

I don't know if the people behind Us vs Them are truly political and if they want to change things with the use of t-shirt slogans. But maybe that doesn't really matter. The tees will get a message out there. A general feeling that says that something isn't really right out there.

And political or not their use of fonts and simple colorways leaves a number of nice t-shirts.

Obey Basic

Basic Script.

It's not easy to find really clean t-shirts for girls. But when you do, they are often very clean. This one is from Obeys summer line.

Sure, it might not be the most extravagant thing in the world but it is clean. There is a reason why it's called Basic script. I would say it's a clean summer tee that I would like to see more often. Especially combined with short shorts, knee socks and a pair of low sneakers. I think you know what I mean. A bit of a street-wear soccer look.

Besides. As I always say, there is something special with a woman in a tee and a pair of sneaker.

Analog Tee.

To the point.

Like it normally is, tees with prints comes from skate/surf brands. This one is from the California based brand Analog.

Oh yes it's tee time again. From Analog we have a t-shirt that illustrates (again) how something simple is normally a sure way of getting a clean tee. Okey the "trick" they use on this one is one of the older ones. Take a picture of something that you think is cool and then make it black and white, play a bit with the contrasts in photoshop and you're done. Somehow it seems to work almost every time.

This specific t-shirt can be found on www.karmaloop.com but you can also take a look at analogs other t-shirts at www.analogclothing.com

Don't underestimate the power of a good t-shirt.

Irons

You know it.

"Don't ask me to play shit!" could be a reference to pretty much anything. And that's what makes it work.

Irons is a brand from in4mation. A company working out of Honolulu, Hawaii. In their very colorful description of them self they say: "In4mation’s strength in this niche market is built upon a set of varied experiences, from being clothing reps, buyers, freelance designers and pro/am skate and surf team riders. Ryan, Todd, Rhandy and Jun have a resume list that embodies Hawaii’s action sports, lifestyle and retail market for the past decade." So like most streetwear brands they have that skater/surfer attitude on life.

Sure I wouldn't mind living on Hawaii spending my days surfing but that is just the feeling that they are selling. It's not real. But what we can actually see is a line of really good t-shirts. Surfing or skating it doesn't matter, almost anyone will look good in a tee like that.

Alphanumeric.

League.

A# is a straight up skate/snowboard/surf brand (of course) based out of California. I'm not big on that as a style but they have some nice tees.

A clean baseball inspired tee normally always works well. This t-shirt as well as Last weeks Crooks and Castles t-shirt both show that. It's something with the simplicity. It's something with classic baseball uniform layout combined with something different that makes it work.

I haven't see anyone carrying Alphanumerics stuff here in Berlin but you can get a hold of their tees at karmaloop.com

And if you want to see their entire summer line then just click yourself over to www.alphanumericbrand.com

Man I need to start making more money so I can get more t-shirts.

Crooks and Castles

Hard to find.

I just spent an hour trying to find a picture of this tee in white with black logo. You can see it at karmaloop but I can't get to my computer.

I give up, that was just not worth it. I wanted to show a really nice, white, clean t-shirt from a brand with talented designers. But now I don't want to. Now I just want to bitch about the internet and Crooks and Castles in general. Damn you internet!

Well I guess it's not the internets fault. It's really karmaloop.coms fault. They are the ones not being able to make a web site that works properly.

So if we move on, all I really wanted to point out is that Crooks and Castles have alot of really nice t-shirts. The entire brand produces many clean designs ranging from tees to sneakers. The only thing one could question is that they are often thinking to much in the sense of quantity rather than quality. Because if you drop so many t-shirts a month some of them are bound not to look very good.

SSUR Weed Tee.

Nice.

There is not much to say. Just Nice.

I have never heard about the brand SSUR before today. They have some nice tees but this one is simple and really clean. I'm gonna see if I can go get it right now.

There is nothing more to say really.

FreshJive

The Finger.

Looking through their websites you see that Freshjive has been around for a while. Founded in 1989 they are veterans when it comes to street wear.

Their view on the whole fashion scene is somewhat different than that of your normal brand. They don't see their brand as a gift from god but more of a way to say something and make people aware of things. And the way they make us aware is normally by being provocative. Just take a look at their other tees and you will understand what I mean.

Freshjive has a bunch of really nice t-shirts (Tees that stick out). But also a lot of clean shorts and shirts. It's definitely worth a look. Check it at www.freshjive.com

Free Hugs.

Spread the Love.

It's true what they say. Sometimes all you really need is a hug. And with a tee like this you are sure to lighten up the day.

The concept is simple. The t-shirt is also very simple. Spread joy by giving people hugs. It's a nice white t-shirt with a clean texted message on it. Looks good and it makes a difference. I can't help but to see it as something to wear that has some extra benefits. But if you see it as somewhat of a political thing, then you might want to head over to www.freehugscampaign.org and take a bigger part in the philosophy of this t-shirt.

I'm thinking of getting one just to see what would happen.

Sneaker Tee

Finally.

I know, I know. The enjoy "whatever" t-shirt has been around for a long time. But this one explains it self. Enjoy Sneakers.

This is a t-shirt from the brand Fully Laced. And as the name tells it started out making laces. That was back in 2005, now they have grown and offers pretty much everything within street wear. As you can see it's all about sneakers and the clothes that goes with them.

Not to bad.

Fantasy.

T.I.T.S

For some provovative, for others a celebration of the female form. T.I.T.S or Two In The Shirt makes t-shirts with prints of different fantasies all with the female body in the centre.

T.I.T.S started out in 2006 and has since then made t-shirts with half naked women on them. What ever you may think of that, they do manage to make good looking t-shirts. They use good pictures and good color combos. Some tees are more tasteful than others but their stuff is definitely worth a look.

OBEY The Tee!

BIG Print!

Since 2001 Obey has been a solid part of the streetwear/skate/hip-hop scene. Like other brands in the same category Obey tends to deliver clean Tee's with big prints.

I know someone who would like one of these. And for good reason, it's a clean tee. Prints this big might not be exactly my thing but if you stick to a couple of rules then it's cool. What I mean is, a big print takes up more that it's share of attention. So if you would wear a tee like this with something else that also is attention grabbing, then it would be to much.

But if you rock this Tee with just a pair of jeans and some nice sneaks then there is nothing that can go wrong.

Troo

Tee Time!

As I've said before, the t-shirt is one, if not THE most important part of your getup. So here is another tuesday Tee.

This is a nice example on how a clean logo can make a simple white t-shirt into a really good looking tee. I personally like it when a tee doesn't have to much stuff on it. If the logo or print is good then you don't need more. Unfortunately not all manage to do basic designs that can hold up like this one.

The t-shirt is from Troo, a new brand from California. And I have to say that if they continue with making prints as clean as their logo then it's just a matter of time before they hit it big.

And remember -Sharing is Caring.

Another Tee.

Can't have to many.

Maybe it's official now because here is another spring tee. This one from IM King is an example of a very "loud" t-shirt.

As we enter the warmer part of the year it's always a good idea to get a white t-shirt. Not only does it stay cooler than a black tee, it also has a lighter feel to it. If your are going to wear a white t-shirt then it should be in spring/summer. Just a white tee without a print will work. But if you want something that sticks out this one is a good option.

The brand IM King's T-shirts all have something in common, their loudness. The prints are all big and almost all of them draw your attention. For more IM King tee's check out the spring/summer line over at imking.com

Spring Tee?

Cleptomanicx.

The most important piece of clothing when the temperature gets a bit higher is of course the T-shirt. Here's one from Cleptomanicx.

This Hamburger brand (the city Hamburg, not the food) is somewhat of a mixed brand. You could say that they are a skate brand that get their influences from the see. Maybe not the see, but the beach and the general vibe you get from being close to the ocean.

The ongoing theme is pastel colors and light designs. That's why you can easily say that their t-shirts go very well in spring and summer. They just have that easy feeling about them. I especially like the clean designs when they just use their logo and name.

Adidas T-Shirt.

Simply a simple T-Shirt.

Simplicity equals cleanliness, this is an example of that. Why over do it? And when sticking to basics you have something that will last.

Sure walking around like a billboard for a brand might not feel that good, but we all do it most of the time. Peoples abilities for brand recognizing is so far gone that it doesn't matter if the logo is hidden in the corner or a bit more obvious like the one on this t-shirt.

The Trefoil logo from Adidas is a classic logo. And besides from being used to advertise the brand, it's used because it looks good. Simply put a classic logo that makes up a classic tee. Good all around.

Now why Adidas can't make them on a regular basis and keep them in stock is probably a well planed marketing and sales plan aimed to annoy people like me. Or again stupidity.
