The Movie Night.

A movie you wanted to see for a while and some friend can be more than enough.

A movie night has to be done right. And when it is, it can be wonderful. It can be an escape from everything. An escape to a different world. There are some key elements for a good movie night.

First is the movie, it has to be a movie that is entertaining and that has a good production value. You might get tempted to get a movie from some "the best movies ever list", this could be a mistake. A too serious movie can be too much for a movies night. It's suppose to be fun, not depressing. Most of the time a movie that is a bit stupid will makes everybody have more fun, because it's so easy to make jokes about the movie. And if this is a romantic movie night then the same applies but it's better if you have a movie with a more sexy undertone.

Once you picket the right movie it's time to move on to the surroundings. Make it cosy. Light candles and get rid of the bright lamps. Get extra pillows and blankets in the couch. Or even better, make the bed super cosy.

Get your favorite snacks and drinks and you are all set to have a movie night where the cold and windy weather can't get to you. Just snuggle up and enjoy.

Good with fall. Part 1.

The Flea Market.

There are a few things that are actually good with fall and that the weather is beginning to turn into crap.

One of the nice things to do in fall is to go to flea markets. The old things, the people, the whole set up works better when the leafs are turning gold and the air is a bit chilly. The mood is something special when you get up on a Sunday with a flea market day ahead. Just drinking a coffee to get yourself up and then going straight to the restaurant for brunch. Brunching in Berlin is like a hobby for some people and the interest in this way of eating had given the city a good supply of affordable brunch menus. That all-you-can-eat mentality really works in the city.

After you have filled up on to much food and to little drink it's time to go to one of the many flea markets. And the Berliners love their flea markets. You can find them on Saturdays but on Sunday it's for real, then it's business. And people have stuff to sell. Maybe people got a bit crazy and bought to much stuff in the 80's or they simple need the money, because flea markets are big business.

If you pick the right one you will get a nice mix of normal people selling off their memory's and professionals with € signs in mind. But some of these pros are artist trying to get by or young designers that want to get there brand going. It's that mix, a smoke, a cup of coffee and the fresh autumn air that makes the Flea Market one of the really good things about fall.

The only hard thing is to manage to get up to make a day out of it. I'm usually to hung over to walk out the door at 10 in the morning on a Sunday.

The Hunt for Shelter.

The Hunt has begun.

Today I started to look for a place to put my hat. And in Berlin it can go fast. I have send a couple of mails to people who have advertised that they have rooms that are available. And already I have two appointments.

In Germany a lot of people live in so called WG's. Wohngemeinschaft means flat-sharing community. And that is not as hippie as it sounds. It more of a sharing the cost and making friend at the same time thing. Off course there's good ones and bad ones. But if you get a good one you can have a very nice time. I'm gona go and have a look at two WG's later today. I hope that it's nice in at least one of them.

And check the picture I found, here we have an excellent example of how nice it can get if you combine the black/dark couch, the rug and the lamp. Hmm, nice table?!

Cross your fingers that I find a good one...

Black leather couch.

A must in the living room.

Sitting, reading, watching, eating, drinking is all done on the couch. That being said, a couch that last is worth a great deal. A sofa to me is suppose to last for a number of years. It is suppose to give you that - Well, at least I have the sofa issue taken care of.

What better way than to get a black leather couch. Find the right one and you might even have a friend for life. I think that a sofa like this one from Baxton Studio can give the right feeling to any living room. Any room with white walls and darker wood details can look great with this sitting spot. Turning it a bit to that lounge that you like.
