The Stone Roses. She Bangs The Drums.
And now to some music.
I see a girl dancing, spinning around in a bright living room. She is turning and throwing her hair to the beat of the music. Jumping on the couch as the sounds take over.
Sometimes when listening to music, pictures appear in my mind. My own personal music video. This happened when I was listening to this song. I have only heard it a couple of times and today I got that feeling. Just closing my eyes and letting the images take there space.
It's a good song, what more can I say.

Good with fall. Part 1.
The Flea Market.
There are a few things that are actually good with fall and that the weather is beginning to turn into crap.
One of the nice things to do in fall is to go to flea markets. The old things, the people, the whole set up works better when the leafs are turning gold and the air is a bit chilly. The mood is something special when you get up on a Sunday with a flea market day ahead. Just drinking a coffee to get yourself up and then going straight to the restaurant for brunch. Brunching in Berlin is like a hobby for some people and the interest in this way of eating had given the city a good supply of affordable brunch menus. That all-you-can-eat mentality really works in the city.
After you have filled up on to much food and to little drink it's time to go to one of the many flea markets. And the Berliners love their flea markets. You can find them on Saturdays but on Sunday it's for real, then it's business. And people have stuff to sell. Maybe people got a bit crazy and bought to much stuff in the 80's or they simple need the money, because flea markets are big business.
If you pick the right one you will get a nice mix of normal people selling off their memory's and professionals with € signs in mind. But some of these pros are artist trying to get by or young designers that want to get there brand going. It's that mix, a smoke, a cup of coffee and the fresh autumn air that makes the Flea Market one of the really good things about fall.
The only hard thing is to manage to get up to make a day out of it. I'm usually to hung over to walk out the door at 10 in the morning on a Sunday.

A Party with Pirates.
Party for the Pirates.
On Sunday Germany goes voting. What will they vote for?
France just passed a law that will exclude people who download from the Internet. Sweden passed a law that gives the government the right to monitor in reality all Internet traffic in the country. And many more countries around the world are passing laws that can be used to turn normal people into criminals for sharing information. So the time is right, I believe that there is a use and a need for a party like this. Just like the small environmental parties back in the day. They helped the green movement. Now there is a need for a Pirate Movement.
Information should be free, the Internet should be free. Without freedom of speech we're screwed. So remember to vote. You can also join the Pirate Party in the country you live. Who knows you might one day be a parliamentarian.
But tonight it's time to find another party. One with drinks and music. Have a great weekend, I know I will.

A Hoody.
Sip the style.
A basic combination piece like this works almost anytime. Combined with your favorite sneakers it will not let you down. And it can be acquired at rodeo drive as well as at the suburban mall.
Why grey? Why Zip? Why not? Unlike a white jacket or hoody a grey one will not get dirty just by you sitting down on a bench. Grey will not let you down that easily. I like the zip much more than the original collage sweater or hoody. With the zip you are more flexible and if the temperature gets to high then valuable seconds can be gained. But most of all, you can sport that clean white tee you bought last weekend. Since it's all about layers.
And now as the temperatures get lower this will work under the coat or any other jacket.

Lauren Hill.
Everything is everything.
This weeks song is from Lauren Hill, It's not just a good song but the video is one of the best.
I just wonder how you're supposed to interpret the video. That the city is a record and the streets are tracks on that LP. Is it that we really are the music. That a city is like a song and the world is a never ending medley. None the less a very good video.
Lauren Hill is a good musician, I mean we all listen to the The Fugees. Pretty much all there songs was played to death on MTV. But this was in the days when MTV actually played music videos and not just strange dating shows. And did you know that Lauren Hill was in the movie Sister Act 2 with Whoopi Goldberg back in 94. Playing the role of a trouble teen with a amazing musical talent.
Lately Miss Hill has bin away but a new album release is rumored.

Stan Smith Mid W
Sneaker Monday is here, and this time it's something for the ladies.
There is something special about a beautiful girl wearing sneakers. Something athletic, something spontaneous that is hard to describe. A pair of nice sneaks always gives a couple of extra points in my book. But that's not all, women can wear other types of sneakers than men can. A sneak that would look ridiculous on a guy can be perfect on a girl.
Like this Stan Smith Mid, a clean white sneak with a somewhat bigger Velcro strap at the top. Easy to match with and perfect to combine with tight jeans. A couple of other nice sneaks from Adidas are the Honey Mid Synthetic and the Top Ten Hi from the sleek collection.
And remember to respect the sneak, can't stretch that enough.

The AK47.
Автомат Калашникова 47.
The AK47 has bin produced to such an extent that there are more AK's than any other assault rifle in the world. This planet doesn't seem to get enough of killing and war.
I understand why the AK47 is the weapon of choice, it's cheap to make, it will fire in almost any situation and it's easy to use. If there was post apocalyptic type world this would be the weapon I would be looking for. I find it superior to the M16. But I don't think that aliens will attack or that zombies will walk the earth. There is really no need for them. The only explanation for all these guns is the quest for money and power.
There are other ways of getting what you want.
With that being said, later on today I will go to another place that sometimes can be compared to a war or a battlefield. A place with heroes and casualties. The Friday night.
Have a great weekend and The Best Stuff I See will be back with Sneaker Monday.

The Coat.
Seriously casual.
The Coat is like the white t-shirt or the shirt, something that is needed in a wardrobe. Get the right one and you're set for some time.
Then the question is, which one? First you have to decide for when you want the coat. In other words for which season. Thin one for fall or a thicker one for winter. I would go for a thinner one. There's more possibilities with a thinner one. To get that serious casual look simple combine a t-shirt, a hoody and the coat.
There's a reason why the coat is plastered on every billboard when fall comes.
And if you have the suit to go with it, then you can really go gangster.

Mos Def.
Quiet Dog Bite Hard
Mos Def released The Ecstatic not long ago and here is a tune from that album.
Mos Def or Dante Terrell Smith was born and raised in Brooklyn New York. And that New York thing can be heard in his music. But the thing with Mos Def besides from his way with words and the fact that he can freestyle about anything is that he seems to be a good person. Hip-Hop has a tradition of always screaming out I'm the greatest and everybody else are just shit. This doesn't seem to be that case with Mos Def. It's more about a sound view on music.
And when it comes to the guys acting all I say is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Plant a Seed.
Let it Grow.
Planing a seed and seeing it grow is something special. All growth, be it an idea, a city, a child, a animal or a plant gives something to the person that started it.
A plant is growth in the simplest form. A seed, soil and water is all that is needed. Technically you don't have to buy anything. Dirt can be found everywhere, you can get a seed from a friend or a plant you find in any garden you might walk past. There is really nothing stopping you.
And besides the feeling you get from seeing something you started grow, it's sometimes amazing to reap what you have sown. I have just tasted one of the tomatoes from my tomato plant and it would be hard to find a tomato like that in the supermarket. It's just better.
And soon the time will come for my other plant to go to harvest. And that harvest party is going to be something else...

Autumns Evening Breeze.
Today the Sound Providers gives us some art and music with that autumn feeling. We who live in the more northern parts of Europe have to slowly get use to the fact that fall is coming. The temperature hasn't gone down much this week but soon it will.
A normal autumn I would be feeling bad, only getting ahead thinking about winter and darkness. But not this time. I have set out to figure out all the good thing about fall. I mean there must be at least a couple of good thing with it.
And besides the darkness has perks to...

Entourage.
Let's hug it out Bitch.
The show might be a bit cheesy, even a bit to much of Americana for a normal person. And yes Mark Wahlberg is a producer of the show. And of course Seth Green has a tendency to show up now and again. Set that a side and you got yet another good HBO show.
But what really makes this a show is the character Ari Gold played by Jeremy Piven. The leading role's agent that will do and say anything to get his way. Take this quote for instants - You so much as eye fuck an agent in this building and I will deport you naked to the Taliban! The best part is that this quote is just one among hundreds. And they are just getting better and better as the show goes on.
So if you haven't already, get a bunch of episodes and watch the master agent at work.

Adidas Conductor Hi.
High as always.
A bit spaced out? Well yes, that's the way it goes sometimes on a Sneaker Monday.
Sneakers that draw there inspiration from retro, clean sneaks from back in the days are seen all over the place at the moment. And there's a good reason for it. They look cool. These Conductor's have brought together a very good color combo as well a classic high-top cut. And the small color detail on the side really wraps it up.
If you're more of a Adidas person then these sneaks are a very good option. That is If you're looking for higher ones and you're not in the mood for Jordan's.
I should have worn these this weekend, would have made my dancing skills even better.

Friday Night.
Step Out.
Ah, Friday nights. What would we do without them?
Berlin is a big city. Not the biggest one but certainly not the smallest one either. But when comes to party's and clubs it has a certain something that is hard to describe. It's fast but relaxed, it's beautiful but dirty, it's one of a kind.
Take a good WG party, it's an art in it's own. This is what you do. You want a lot of space for dancing so take the furniture out of most of the rooms and place them in one room that will be locked. Get a sound system hooked up and have one of your DJ-friends to play the music (most people know at least one or two DJ's). Go over the lighting and try to get that club feeling going. Then just fill the bathtub with beer and the fridge with vodka. Invite 100 or so people and the party is well on it's way. And if the cops don't come a knocking at 4 in the morning then you have done something wrong.
And when it comes to clubs in this city they are many, loud and electro. The Berliners love electro music. Why? Well, they love to dance and electro is good music to dance to. As simple as that. The list of clubs is long. And on the side of the clubs comes the special events that are held in old factories or on roof tops or any other good place. A couple of clubs that you might want to visit are Watergate, Tape, Berghain, Yaam, Icon, Tresor, Pic Nick, Cassiopeia and KulturBrauerei. But before maybe one of the thousands of bars.
Thats where I will be tonight.

Cover your neck.
Storms are a Coming.
Summer is not over, it's just slowly fading in to autumn. And for those cold winds you need something to protect your neck with. Then this classic might help. But this is not only a fashionable accessorise but also a vital street war necessity. A piece of combat gear with many uses. You never now when the war begins. And as the pandemic moves on and spreads the scarf can be used as a mask. As a mask the scarf does not only hide your identity from big brother, if soaked with water it also makes it easier to breathe when the teargas comes flying.
It does not stop there, if you or a someone gets injured it can be uses as bandage until the medics can get there. And I'm sure that it can be used as a rope to tie thing together.
But in later days this scarf has hit the big fashion outlets and can be bought in all colors. No longer a way of showing solidarity with Palestine or ones political views. So which one to get? Well, the white with black or white with red can be a nice. All depending on what you wear with it. I like the green with black, the military one.

MGMT Time To Pretend.
Live fast and die young.
It's all about how you look at things. The perspective that you have changes the world that you see. Are you happy then the world will be a happy place. But if you're sad it very fast turns in to something dark and unforgiving. You should always try to stay on the positive side.
This song from MGMT has a sadness to it, but it also portrays something positive. To me a bittersweet uplifting feeling that is hard to explain. Sometimes a song just gets stuck with you and I guess this one did. I think the lyrics might have something to do with it.
"I'm feeling rough, I'm feeling raw, in the prime of my life.
Let's make some music, make some money,
find some models for wives.
I'll move to Paris, shoot some heroin, and fuck with the stars.
You man the island and the cocaine and the elegant cars."
I have a feeling that this week is going to be a good week. Wonder why? ;)

Cappy Cap.
Superior fit.
Hats come in a lot of shapes, colors and styles. And here is the undisputed king of baseball caps. These caps are no longer what you wear to support you home team in that true American pass time. Well of course some do but the majority has them to look good. New Era has bin around for a while now and I would guess that's because they make the official caps for the major league. But in the last couple of years they have moved there focus to make an enormous number of different caps. There are thousands and thousands of these.
So which one should I pick? Well first of all if you have a favorite team then pick that teams cap. I live in Europe and here we don't give a crap about baseball so here it doesn't matter. But for the ones in the US this could matter. Don't pick one that has to many colors, it might seem cool now but after a week or two that screaming green is not going to be so much fun. And off course it's hard to match with your clothes. If you wear more white than black, pick white and the other way around. And make sure that you get the right size because you can't change it. Get it a bit bigger if your thinking about growing longer hair. But it's good quality.
If your looking for one here in Berlin, check Hackescher Markt where the New Era Flagship store is located. They have a good selection.
