The Finger.

Looking through their websites you see that Freshjive has been around for a while. Founded in 1989 they are veterans when it comes to street wear.

Their view on the whole fashion scene is somewhat different than that of your normal brand. They don't see their brand as a gift from god but more of a way to say something and make people aware of things. And the way they make us aware is normally by being provocative. Just take a look at their other tees and you will understand what I mean.

Nike Dunk High AC

Perforated Leather Pack.

In a month or so Nike is gonna launch this pack consisting of a Dunk high, a Air Force 1 Low and a Toki all in white and all in perforated leather.

This is a straight up summer launch. It seems as if Nike has realized that people want white sneaks with that preppy canvas feel to it. And looking at the pictures you can see that they have done a good job. My favorite is clearly the Dunk. The Toki looks a bit strange in my opinion.

But Hey, to each is own.

Where's Summer?

Seems like fall.

It's green in the city but the clouds are dark and blocking the sun. Cold winds blow right through you as you walk faster to avoid the rain. What happened? Where is the spring and summer?

The spring and the summer is somewhere else. Most likely somewhere south of here. It doesn't matter anyway. Let's just go out and have a drink and see what happens. I think we will start with a little barbecue to at least pretend that it's warm. And the best place for that would be high up on a roof looking out on the city. After that I think we should head over to Raum 18 and check out the visuals, maybe the music is good. And if the weather does play along we go to RAW which should be good tonight or why not Panorama bar? It's bound to be good . Or we can just go to Golden Gate, that's always interesting.

On Saturday you might want to go camping. Renate is having a camp, but it seems more like a mini festival. It's probably gonna be nice but again the weather has to play ball for that one. Just like the 5 Years of Sportsclub at bar 25. Hmm, I guess it's gonna be Berghain this Saturday.

We'll see, my mind is set on next weekend when the opportunity to follow the Tv will present it self.

Hanging Out.

Place to hang.

Clothes hangers have a tendency to look cheap and tacky. Bit this prototype from Axis is far away from that. You better start making them!

Minimal and basic. What more do you need from a clothes hanger. This is a perfect example of something that fills it purpose with style. Not only is it a really clean thing but the designer Ramei Keum also made it so that the clothes hanger it self can hang two jackets (one on each side).

To bad that not all things in life can be so clean and simple. I have now personly been affected by the ongoing Internet censorship that is taking place around the world. Okay it's not like I live in China, but the company I work for have now started to block a number of web sites. And with that they have taken away the only good thing about working here. What I want to say with that is, be glad if you have Internet where you're free to access everything. Also I would like to argue that Internet access should be a human right. We should all fight for a free Internet.

I voted for the Pirate Party and I think you should as well.

It's true what they say. Sometimes all you really need is a hug. And with a tee like this you are sure to lighten up the day.

The concept is simple. The t-shirt is also very simple. Spread joy by giving people hugs. It's a nice white t-shirt with a clean texted message on it. Looks good and it makes a difference. I can't help but to see it as something to wear that has some extra benefits. It's a simple white low sneaker. It looks really good and it's really clean. The difference between this sneaker and other low white sneakers is that this one costs much more. Karneval der Kulturen.

Shake it!

Big weekend coming up. No only is it a long weekend for all us workers, it's also time for Karneval der Kulturen. The procession will make the city dance.

Once a year Berlin celebrates the city's diversity with a carnival. People from all countries and ethnicities dress up and dance in a long procession through the city. It will be music, drinking and of course dancing. The festival starts today and goes on until Monday. But the high-light of the whole thing starts at Hermannplatz at 12:30 on Sunday. Be sure to get a seat.

But that is not all, when the city celebrates it goes all out. Suicide Circus is having Club Night, Renates Heimkinder is doing their thing and Tini is playing at Bar 25. And as always Saturday is when it really starts. Kollektiv Turmstrasse is playing Ritter Butzke, Home Sweet Home is setting up at rundfunkzentrum and there is another Wild Wild Wedding over at Brunnenstrasse 70.

This is truly a good opportunity to Be The Weekend.

Sun glasses

Frogskin.

No wonder they are all sold out. These sun glasses are f**king crazy. In there very 80's way they will turn some heads.

There are a few things that you wish for in sun glasses. One, they should look good. Two, they should hide you eyes. Most of the glasses in the Frogskin collectors edition gives you just that. The only problem is that they are sold out. So if you feel the urge then you need to seek them else where.

LCD Soundsystem, I Can Change

This Is Happening.

LCD Soundsystem just released the third and supposedly last album. This is a track from that album.

They say you should quit when you're ahead and that seems to be what James Murphy is doing. Starting out with LCD Soundsystem in 2002, the band has gone from underground to top of the charts.

I just heard of LCD a couple of months ago. But hey there you go.

Sneaker Tee

Finally.

I know, I know. The enjoy "whatever" t-shirt has been around for a long time. But this one explains it self. Enjoy Sneakers.

This is a t-shirt from the brand Fully Laced. And as the name tells it started out making laces. That was back in 2005, now they have grown and offers pretty much everything within street wear. As you can see it's all about sneakers and the clothes that goes with them.

Another high sneak from Nike. And as we can see the colors of summer according to Nike is white and electric/neon. I like.

Ah, back to Monday. The weekend seem to go so fast. It always does. But I do have to apologize for the lack of posts last week. The reason for that was simple. Thursday last week was a day off and I thought that it's a bit weird not to go to work Thursday and come in on friday. I would have been stupid of me not to take friday off. By just taking one day I manage to stretch the weekend to four full days. I truly enjoyed it.

With that explained we can now take a look at the Dunk High Premiums. Simple sneaker but very clean. White is the best color for a sneak and when you combine it with a touch of bright color you get the best of two world. Bright, fun and playful just like the summer should be. A perfect choice for summer.

Short Freedom.

Tomorrow is a day of rest. Tomorrow is a day off. Which means that tonight can be a night of celebration.

And the city knows that we have tomorrow off so it has more to offer than a normal Wednesday night. Now if it could only realise that having stores open on holidays is good for business then it would go to whole other level.

Fantasy.

T.I.T.S

For some provovative, for others a celebration of the female form. T.I.T.S or Two In The Shirt makes t-shirts with prints of different fantasies all with the female body in the centre.

T.I.T.S started out in 2006 and has since then made t-shirts with half naked women on them. What ever you may think of that, they do manage to make good looking t-shirts. They use good pictures and good color combos. Some tees are more tasteful than others but their stuff is definitely worth a look.

Court Force High Wmns

Crisp.

I have said it once and I can say it again. There is something special with a woman in sneakers. Here is a nice option for the summer from Nike.

The Court Force has a very stylish design. It's a straight up Nike high-top. But what makes this model stand out is the interesting and fun use of colorful details. Discreet but still playful it really makes this sneak stand out.

Of course it's all about what style you have, this sneak will not suit everybody. But for the ones that can pull it off, it's a lot better than the normal converse that you all insist on wearing.

End of The Week

Mr Happy.

I have a good feeling about this Weekend. Mr Happy might even show up.

The weather might not have been the best this week and it doesn't seem to get better. But that doesn't really matter, the weekend is here and that's always a sweet feeling. This time around it's so sweet that I do think I will call Mr Happy.

Mr Happy might make a visit to Glashaus today as they are having Super Freaks. But there are also a couple of other things that is sure to be fun. Lately Brunnenstrasse 70 has been the place for a number of clubs. This weekend it's Wedding Party on Friday and tomorrow it's Wedding Mania VS Möbelrücken. There is also a release party in Kleine Reise and as always Farbfernseher is bound to get full.

Saturdays are slowly getting somewhat of a pattern. Berghain or Arena. Arena or Berghain. Well that's what happens when they have good line-ups. Otherwise Möbelrücken or why not Villa.

But as I said, I have a good feeling..

The Park

Green.

It might not feel like it exactly today but with warmer weather comes the time of the park. What can you not do in a park?

In this city and most other cities around Europe the park is a place with room for everything. If people do it, it will also happen in the park. And Berlin has many parks, big parks like Tiergarten or like the park in the picture Mauerpark. It also has a number of smaller parks spread out a little bit everywhere. But it's in the bigger parks that really anything can happen.

So this is simply a salute to parks and especially the parks here in Berlin. Thank you parks for offering a place to relax, exercise, drink, party, dance, buy drugs, sing karaoke, watch animals, enjoy nature, buy things and of course listen to music. Thanx Park!

The Apples in stereo, Dance Floor

Time Traveler.

Easy and kind song from Robert Schneiders The Apples in stereo. This song is from their new album Travellers in Space and Time.

It's always fun to see a music video that is a bit different. But why is Elijah Wood in the video? Well it seems as though Elijah Wood and The Apples are friends. So good friends that Elijah Wood even signed the band to his record label Simian Records. (I guess he had to do something with all that Lord of the Rings money.)

Anyways, it's time to kick back and take it easy for a moment.

OBEY The Tee!

BIG Print!

Since 2001 Obey has been a solid part of the streetwear/skate/hip-hop scene. Like other brands in the same category Obey tends to deliver clean Tee's with big prints.

I know someone who would like one of these. And for good reason, it's a clean tee. Prints this big might not be exactly my thing but if you stick to a couple of rules then it's cool. What I mean is, a big print takes up more that it's share of attention. So if you would wear a tee like this with something else that also is attention grabbing, then it would be to much.

But if you rock this Tee with just a pair of jeans and some nice sneaks then there is nothing that can go wrong.

"Raw Dogs" Stan Smith MID, 10 Deep

10 Deep.

The collaboration with 10 Deep is one that started back in 2008. It took them a while but the result is something that was worth waiting for.

This being the prime sneaker season one would think that new releases would be falling from the sky. That is not really the case, at least not when it comes to good looking sneaks. But when you look a little harder you find sneakers like this one.

10 Deep has simply taken a Stan Smith Mid and put their touch on it. With the colorway "Iron & Chrome" this sneak is a low key type of shoe. But since gray is really easy to match with that is just a plus.

1st of May.

The Night Will Glow.

1st of May weekend. The city will fill up with demonstrations, cops, open airs and parties. I am sure that things will happen.

This year the 1st of May ends up on a Saturday. For the working person this is not ideal. There goes another holiday without giving us a day off. But for everybody this means that a lot of things will happen at the same time. You can either go activist and spend you weekend protesting and supporting different causes or you go "Be The Weekend" and go all out party. Wonder which one I'm gonna choose.

Tonight is the windup for Saturday. For example Ritter Butzke has a long line up to get the crowds going. Golden gate also has something to offer. Then the party in Brunnenstraße 70 looks like it will take off. But the real show starts tomorrow. For example, I overheard a club owner yesterday saying "Saturday? first of May? All bets are off. It's gonna get crazy." Hmm maybe that not to strange to hear from a club owner but it really looked and sounded like he meant it.

Not only is the city gonna fill up with demonstrations, (and most likely fights with the police) but there are open airs in many of the parks and clubs are organizing more and more outside areas next to their locations. Talking to the Fulast guys the plan seems to be to hit up a open air and then go to Berghain, it being the opening party for their garden and almost all their resident DJs are playing. Bar 25 are also having their official opening this Saturday. But that is just a few things, the one that looks will find parties in crazy places this weekend.

It's gonna be a good one so make the best of it and try to just Be The Weekend!

All New!

New clothes, new website design and new pictures. The Berlin brand goes all in this time.

Reversed Destruction is a street wear brand out of Berlin. I talked about their glow in the dark prints not long ago. This spring they went all out presenting their Schnipp Schnapp clothes and all their other classics.

What I think you see in Revdes is that they deliver a cleanliness in street wear that is hard to come by. Clean, basic logos that are to the point. That in combination with their use of colors and you got some nice stuff.

Oxia Sun Step

Step it up.

Here is another build up for the weekend. Oxia with his latest release. Sure it's from 2009 but it will still make you dance.

Oxia is a DJ from France that started out in the late 80's but first became a club DJ in 1991. From being a resident DJ in a club in Grenoble he is now one of the biggest names in the techno/house scene.

He had a gig here in Berlin not long ago but it's probably gonna take some time before he has another one. Not to worry, with releases like this you're bound to hear his tunes on a floor close to you.

Troo

Tee Time!

As I've said before, the t-shirt is one, if not THE most important part of your getup. So here is another tuesday Tee.

This is a nice example on how a clean logo can make a simple white t-shirt into a really good looking tee. I personally like it when a tee doesn't have to much stuff on it. If the logo or print is good then you don't need more. Unfortunately not all manage to do basic designs that can hold up like this one.

The t-shirt is from Troo, a new brand from California. And I have to say that if they continue with making prints as clean as their logo then it's just a matter of time before they hit it big.

Nike RT1 High 2010 Colorway.

Bright Blue.

Here it is again. The RT1 High. But this time around with a much fresher colorway. It's simply shining bright blue.

Back in September we took a look at the leather RT1 in grey. It's a very clean sneak. Now Nike released this version for spring/summer. It's the same clean model but with a colorway that is much more summer. Perfect for people who really like color and want to step it up a notch for the hotter times.

Sneakers, it would not be the same without them.

Be The Weekend, Fase 2

Danger.

It is the best day of the week. It's the spring of the weekend. It's Friday and it all starts today.

The Gin and Tonic, just look at it. Simplicity at it's finest. A clear liquid with a hint of color. But looks can be deceiving, you should be aware of it's dangers. There is no real reason to have a picture of a Gin and Tonic drink today but it just looks so good that I could help myself.

But to connect this drink to the upcoming weekend is not hard. As the spring now has arrive to the city of Berlin so has wast possibilities of celebration and places to have a gin and tonic. It's like someone just flipped a switch and opened the floodgates. Each week offers a number of open air party's. Some in parks that get broken up by the cops, some in industrial areas where no one minds the noise. Usually they take the form as after hour gatherings on sundays. Their is a Stoffwechsel Open Air in Neukölln and many more to be found on facebook.

And what's going on today and tomorrow? Today Panorama is having N2DEEP, Hangar In Exile is having a party in the RAW-Tempel (before it's gone) and there is also a thing in Wilde Renate. Rumors are also going around about a club party in Wedding. After that it's Saturday. That's when Be The Weekend goes into phase two. It's also a great club night. Arena is having Swedenparty which will be nice, Suicide Circus is having Gruppenzwang: a marathon club that goes from saturday until monday both inside and outside. And that's just scratching the surface.

Boombox 2.

It's time again.

The Best Stuff I See has had posts about portable sound before, what was true last year in The Boom Box is true today. Just that here we have the updated version of the getto blaster.

Sure this boom box from Altec Lansing doesn't have that 80's style to it. But that is the only drawback. This one is from the start fully compatible with mp3 players and it has something no old school blaster has, a remote control. So this one can easily be used out on the town as well as in the home.

Whether you choose an original from the 80's or a new one the important thing is still the whole idea of spreading music. Listening to music with other people. Or like Denny Tanaglia says Music Is The Answer.

Jesper Dahlbäck Dash One

For Saturday.

To build up for "Be The Weekend" here is a track from Jesper Dahlbäck. It might not be the latest track released in the music world but it should make you want to move your feet.

Starting to make music with the age 17 you can hear that the man has experience when it comes to this type of music. That also might be the reason why this track is somewhat harder than what's being played in the charts.

Jesper Dahlbäck is playing at Arena Club this Saturday. An excellent opportunity to "Be The Weekend". But we all know what happens before that.

Another Tee.

Can't have to many.

Maybe it's official now because here is another spring tee. This one from IM King is an example of a very "loud" t-shirt.

As we enter the warmer part of the year it's always a good idea to get a white t-shirt. Not only does it stay cooler than a black tee, it also has a lighter feel to it. If your are going to wear a white t-shirt then it should be in spring/summer. Just a white tee without a print will work. But if you want something that sticks out this one is a good option.

Alife Indoor Low

Low Living Sneaker.

The New York brand Alife just dropped a line of sneakers. As a Stan Smith and Adidas fan, one can't help but to like the Indoor Low.

The High version of the Indoor is also clean but it's the low one that grabs you attention. It is a type example of a clean sneak. All white in leather with Alife's name on the tongue. It's the classic shape that does the work. Truly less is more.

One could think that this is a collaboration with Adidas or that they stole the Stan Smith blueprints. Either way, check all the models out a Alife's web page www.alifenyc.com

One Year!

YEAH!

Congratulations The Best Stuff I See. You did it, you have been around for an entire year.

It's amazing. One year ago I would not have thought it possible. But here we are and it's been a great time. It has had it's ups and downs but in the end it's been a great journey. And I would like to thank all the people who visit everyday. Without you this would not be what it is.

And to celebrate this extraordinary effort I will enjoy my vacation and visit my brothers wedding. Tomorrow I will fly to Stockholm and on Saturday I will be the best man. Without a doubt the best title I have ever had.
